CR: thanks for your reply. on AVNT, there were some developments last week. I don't know if you are aware. Yet, all you said may still hold. I managed to find ALYD shares (another y2k stock do you follow it?) and shorted at 1313/16. Could have doen a bit better but got impatient. Trying to short some more ACLY at $19.50. Let's see if order goes through.

regards,

Pancho

CR, I've seen your posts on WDC. I also like the disk drive sector down here. While I love the industry at these prices, I am concerned we may lose a weak player or two if the shakeout is pronounced. I don't have a clue who is the low cost producer/ best next generation technology, etc. Therefore my idea is to take small longs across the board (SEG, WDC, QNTM, etc.) and hope the winners will pay for the potential loser(s). However, I don't know how to play IBM's disk drive unit (I think its a small part of the overall business and I'm leery of longing IBM just for its disk drive exposure) and Fujitsu (I've done no due diligence-is there an easy way to own it?)

Comments? Do you have a view on specific companies in the DD sector? Thanks.
