Normally I do buy in the money, in fact deep in the money. But in this case, I figured on a "mo" play for Comdex and the split.

OT: Options to Ken Pomaranski & Trufflette,

I don't see anything wrong with slightly out-of-the-money calls. In-the-money calls are actually more risky with less leverage. I often split my money to buy 1/2 slightly out-of-the-money and 1/2 slightly in-the-money options, then sell the first 1/2 when it becomes at-the-money (to collect the maximum time premium).
