Making statements placing Microsoft shareholders on a moral level with drug dealers is evidence

I hope I didn't say that the shareholders were. I'm sorry if anybody thought that. But...

MS does remind me of the Cali Cartel. Ruthless to the bone. They give crack (crappy software) away for free knowing that once you are addicted you will pay for upgrades.

It once took me 3 months to ween my users off a character base user interface in favor of a GUI. A year later, they couldn't believe how much better the new system was. Once a users is addicted to a software brand/application, it is harder to get them to change apps than to get a smoker to change brands.

MS figured this out a long time ago. The software industry is the only one that can "dump" their product.
