Looks like a competition between:

ICGN (GENE)
VRUS (MCBIO)
ARIA (ROCKY/FIB)

Of course, other stocks might make a difference, but those three stocks have done so well that they now dominate portfolios.

7/15/11 Contest Update
Was it the debt ceiling game of chicken that floored the market this week? Or was it Lord Voldemort? I know the answer but you’ll have to hack my phone to get it.
At Friday’s close, the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 15.02% YTD (vs. up 17.49% YTD a week ago) and the Contest median was up 17.83% YTD (vs. up 18.70% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 5.16% YTD (vs. up 7.80% YTD a week ago).
GENE’s portfolio (up 79.41% YTD) got another big ICGN boost and widened its lead. And two newcomers slipped into second and third place, JIBAC’s portfolio (up 55.56% YTD) and FIB’s portfolio (up 54.52% YTD). But with three other portfolios up over 50% YTD, it’s a hot race for the runner-up spot.
At Friday's close, 33 of the 38 Contest portfolios were still in the black, while 22 of the 38 were beating the NBI.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week (foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in these two tables).
Portfolio adjustments: None
Have a terrific weekend biotechies!
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.)
