The Murdoch thing goes back years and years. There is a very large number of axes being grinded as we speak. Just take deposed BBC director general Greg Dyke as an example. He went from the BBC because of Iraq, and Murdoch was pro Iraq. I am fairly sure there was a lot of behind the scenes goings on there.... lots of lies and some unlikely deaths.

Originally, and imho the old print unions are to blame for this, Murdoch got a big in to the UK by killing off a long strike and the print unions power, and was fully supported by the conservative government at the time.

The problem with many UK unions is they tend to be inflexible and not forward thinking. Working for a competitive successful business is crucial imho. The Germans and the Japanese have much better industrial relations with their workers while the UK has always been beset by stuffy dickheads in senior management positions. For most of my career I refused to even work for any British company.

So, oddly enough, it was new technology that helped out Murdoch in the UK political scene and it looks to be faulty new technology in the form of My Space that will see his demise. The hacking thing, bribes and worse was set to surface as soon as the iron grip of the Murdoch empire faltered.

Now it's investigation city. Just like after the liberation of Paris in WW2, everyone... including all the whores like Tony Blair, is a fully paid member of the resistance. -g-
