Get a multimeter, remove the lenses from all the lights, hook the trailer up to power and test each connection. What I found with the Caboose was that many of the fixtures were corroded beyond repair. The wires themselves carried the power just fine. Make sure you have a good ground. Many problems with electrical circuits can be traced to a bad ground.

In another vein, I'm getting a 2000 watt inverter generator. It's a Generac. Not as quiet as tthe comparable Honda, but close, and it's half the price, under $500. I figure I can use it for emergencies at home and also in the Caboose when we're dry camping to charge the battery.
