The biggest single thing they have done is to hold the Democrats (including Obama) feet to the fire on deficit reduction. These Obama deficits are what is killing the economy right now. Businesses are not going to hire as long as our government is out of control in its spending. The surge in wasteful government spending which began on Jan 21, 2009 has killed any chance of an economic recovery and turned a recession into something much worse. The DAY a compromise is reached which shows real promise of getting control of the deficit, you'll see this economy turn around. Businesses will look for any sign of growth, and they'll start building for inventory. Ultimately, that is what brings the economy back.
