The Spam Patrol was set up by SI Dave a few years ago. There are 4 members that have the ability to roast new spammers accounts, myself included. At that time SI had problems with spam, and the Spam Patrol was very effective in getting rid of it. About a year or so ago, with the help of Jeff Mitchell, we were tracking these spammers down. In one case I found one domain registrar and reported the person spamming us. They closed his account. Other spammers I tracked, one major spammers ISP was in Panama. I called him, the owner of the ISP, no luck. So I sent a polite professional emails to the spammers, and threaten to report them to the FTC and other governing bodies and for the most part it stoppled, almost immediately. One spammer sent an email back saying, he won't "advertize" on SI anymore. We still get spam but no where near what we use to get. It's actually pretty slow in the spam department. The Spam Patrol removes it pretty quick, in some cases before people even see it. Dale Baker is one of the Spam Patrol, and terminates these guys extremely quick.
