The economy grew at a fairly good clip, but it probably grew at a slower rate than it would have without the tax increase.

A few hundred billion in extra taxes out of a $7 to $10tril economy (I forget exactly how big it was then, if you really care I could look it up) is not as big of factor either way as many claim. A number of other short and long term factors where more important. But to the extent it was a factor it slowed down economic growth.

Its esp. less of a factor when you consider that if you don't tax the money you'll have to borrow it (which makes spending a more important point that taxes, and Clinton combined with the Republican congress did keep spending growth down, which was there most important contribution to the growth of the economy, at least when you combine the effects of lower spending totals and the direct positive effects of some of that spending restraint for example welfare reform, in to one factor).

The theories of economist who push their pencils and computers are an exercise in futility.

The simple facts are that spending must be cut, eliminated; government must be cut throughout the USA.

There is much that the Federal Government does that belongs under free enterprize or in the realm
of charity.

Incidentally, why is Obama destroying the coal industry?
