The euro situation is starting to smell a lot like the Asian crisis of 1998, as the IBs and hedge funds "pile on" one PIG at a time, forcing them into the arms of the IMF...and they can do it with trillions of derivative leverage at hand. Right now that trade is almost a "no brainer".

This mess will continue until a european Mahathir says "no" to the IMF and World Bank, blowing up the one-sided derivative trades. Then, it REALLY gets interesting as the real PIGS (the TBTF French, German, UK, and US money center banks) are exposed and must be bailed out once again.

The Central Bank of China would be wise to stay clear of that mess.
