Just received another call from Steve Sloat. He was kind enough to respond to an e-mail I sent him after my last post, something to the effect of, "Help! I posted results of our conservation on SI, and now I'm the resident CYGS expert. I'm afraid I'm getting facts more & more twisted." For the benefit of this board (and my day job), this will be my last post for awhile, mainly because: I'm ignorant about medicine and medical research. I'm ignorant about biotech. I'm ignorant about R & D. I'm ignorant about most stuff. I'm not CYGS' IR firm, & I may be doing more harm than good. That said, I'll summarize our conversation: Steve said that he read the complaints about his posting on SI. Said that he didn't want to step on any toes, but he did want to let the public know what the company is doing. He had never heard of SI 'til a few weeks ago. He's going to do 2 things regarding IR: 1. Dell Gibson, CYGS' in-house IR guy, may post on SI from time to time, if he sees any legitimate questions that he can answer. Even though Dell is a CYGS employee, his job is IR. Steve said that if folks don't like it, he's sure they'll let him know. I assured him that he was correct, there aren't many bashful people out here in cyberspace. 2. CYGS' website will be updated regularly, maybe weekly. This should serve as best source of info. Anyone interested in info is free to call or e-mail CYGS. That's all I did. Some other items of note: CYGS has one patent pending and others about ready to go. Knows of no patent infringement with Geron. He explained this in a fair amount of detail, but I did't understand well enough to expound on. To this point, CYGS has been funded internally, from initial stock offering. In addition to funding mentioned in a previous post (BTW, Mary Kay was an example only), CYGS also hopes to get a loan from USDA on shrimp farming. USDA currently spends $25-$50M (I think) on inspecting shrimp brought in from outside the USA. If CYGS can increase current U.S. shrimp production from 13% of consumption to say 25%, USDA should be willing to loan CYGS the research $. They'll get their money back, plus some. CYGS currently has no revenue; won't have any until they license something off. That's the goal of all the research. More to come on cancer research in 4-6 weeks. Even if they threw $1M at this research, wouldn't speed up the process, but Steve feels that CYGS is right on schedule, if not ahead. Company has no plans to issue any more stock; 13M total, 2.8M in float. That's it. Other $ to come from private funding/loans. Check out the 2 links at bottom of CYGS new page - from Medline:biogenix.com ncbi.nlm.nih.gov ncbi.nlm.nih.gov It's all way over my head, but this supposedly validates some of CYGS' research efforts. Surprisingly, CYGS wasn't bombarded by the news media today. Very busy, but not overwhelmed. Steve said that the media may actually be doing their homework before reporting the story. That may be the biggest surprise of all. Hope this helps, & hope I've represented info properly. Take care all, David
