Before we screw firefighters who after all do save lives and buildings, why shouldn't we screw your friends who command enormous salaries while running companies into the ground. Obama got rid of GM's CEO but I am absolutely certain there are many other rich Rs screwing up companies left and right while making huge salaries......salaries that would make a firefighter's salary look like a child's weekly allowance.

Always going after the little guy, aren't you, weasel...while kissing the bum of the rich guys. How brown is your nose, dude?

This is sick. And this comment tells the story:

saying firefighters and paramedics require a "high-level, specialized training" that "oftentimes provides for some sort of salary incentives

No one wants to hate on firefighters. But REALLY? Are these people trained on the level of of engineers, various medical personnel, software developers, accountants, tax specialists, etc.? And that's at 90k.

And about that overtime. We're not talking about overtime fighting a fire here. A friend & former client was a manager at a Central Dallas fire station. One year they had EXACTLY ONE call for a fire. The rest were freaking auto accidents where a firetruck just has to show up as a matter of practice. I'm not putting them down in any way; they do an important job.

But at a time when 16% of the country is unemployed, I cannot imagine that there wouldn't be lines a mile long to take one of these jobs
