Chinu - We are coming closer now.

That is a non sense response since it does not promote a civil exchange of ideas
I objected to your attacks on the tea party because you are grouping mostly non political individuals that are fed up with the way the gov is being run into a cohesive group and tagging the collective with derogatory labels that are just not true for the collective (perhaps a few members). I know more than a few people that identify with this populist movement and they do not fit the labels that you and others on this thread tag them with. Thus the response that was perhaps not promoting a civil exchange of ideas.

Perhaps but if you would scan the thread, much that is thrown out by some of the regulars is just one sided attacks and name calling on anything but the dem party and totally aligned with the dem talking points.

I asked a simple question on why is it that Boehner and Eric Cantor ( who is clearly aligned with maintaining his Tea Party base) are not interested in going for a comprehensive reduction in the debt

The flaw in this logic is that you are saying that because Cantor and Boehner do not accept the way to get to $4 Bill as proposed by O they are not interested in reduction in the debt. I believe they were the first ones to propose a large debt reduction which was rejected by the dems. There are many solutions to skinning the cat. We are to a point where the debt must be addressed by our country or soon we will be forced to address it in a way not to our choosing. Perhaps with being realists they did not see getting to the $4 Bill with the timing left and have backed off to a number they thought doable for now.

There is nothing about the Democrats and Republicans on this issue. It is about America.

You are correct yet the people that were elected to resolve the issue are from different parties with differing agendas and ideas. I am unhappy with most of our politicians on both sides of the aisle because they are continually putting politics and self interest in front of the best interests of the country. So it shouldn't be, but the reality is that it is very much about Dems and Repubs.
