Why do you think government should have a right to involve itself in telling us which light bulbs we can use? I mean, what kind of idiot condones this level of government intrusion into people's personal lives?

Honestly, the thought process that would lead some to approve of this is insane to a rational thinker. Why would you believe giving government this kind of power is a good thing?

Al, > Well you don't see them make an issue of f.....g light bulbs do you?

You're projecting. Democrats are the ones making f-----g light bulbs an issue of government regulation.

With demonstrated cost savings, CFLs will sell themselves in the free market. If someone wants to buy a regular 100W incandescent light bulb for whatever reason (e.g. dimmers), let it be.

The issue with light bulbs is government should not interfere with consumer choice - not sure why they mandate such mundane things in the first place - just another nanny state example.

As for dumb D's - maxine wants to take over oil companies and other stupid things.
