The starting base pay is about $60k-65k. Average base pay is closer to $90k. I have a relative that recently looked into it. Of course you need a HS diploma and a 6 month course. They are highly trained. Overtime means more time hanging round the fire house. So then they make less than the median for a family of four in PB County: *In Palm Beach County, the 2010 median income is $67,600 for a family of four (per HUD).* pbcgov.com Which begs the question, Jim........why are you such a mean spirited, selfish, judgemental Scrooge?
