I assume you are using the old voice recognition which requires pauses between words on your P90. The newer product (NaturallySpeaking) which recognises continious speech needs something faster than a P166. I'm using a fast P200 with 40 MB RAM, and it is only marginal, in that it is easy for me to get ahead of the computer. Software makers are usually overly optomistic about what is needed to run their programs. Speech recognition will continue to improve, but I'm sure each improvement will need ever more processing power. Speech recognition is inherently very complex.
