But the corn carbohydrates are taken from the mouths of pigs and fed to the mouths of SUVs. So the pigs have to get something else to eat, which is the next more expensive thing which of course increase production costs.

The main reason for the price of pork going up is most likely that hordes of people are living higher on the hog, bidding up the price of pork.

But perhaps Wen is right and there are other causes too.
