The link to the joint petition from Hamsher and Norquist is interesting. Given the level of skullduggery that folk like Norquist engage in, I'm a bit suspicious. But it certainly does have a bit of credibility since Hamsher's anger at Rahm was long standing and well known. Shared by more than a few on the Democratic left.

As for a future populist linkage, it certainly won't include Norquist. He's anything but a populist. However, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see some linkages between some of the Tea Party and left populists. Particularly if the economy continues in its present shape or gets worse. And the drought in the south and west continues. Very, very tough times out there.
