Yes Thanks Terry, I have a similar device although cannot claim it to be the same. Vireya's suggestion of traction can also be a lifesaver for some, it all depends on the underlying cause.I suspect if there is compression or ruptured discs the traction would be tremendous. No disc problems with me in general. For me it is broken facet joints in S1/L5, presumably from birth, they call it congenital anyway.Fusion would be the direct cure but fraught with difficulty in success etc.My surgeon rightly steered me away from that, however that was nearly 20 years ago and things are changing. Cat scan July 27 should provide an update and reevaluate options. Meanwhile muscles try to compensate and go completely whacky!!

With the break in my bones I have an inherent instability, spine can shift at will. I have been slack at strengthening my core, which is about the only concrete approach to reducing my
episodes. Nearly crippled myself 3 years back trying Yoga as a cure. Been suffering permanent numbness in my right big toe and massive bouts of pain and complete numbness down the right leg with any walking etc ever since that ill fated decision. I lay no blame on my ex GF leading the class in tights!! :)

Am fine while moving, Dead in the Water afterward, which is separate/ related and on top of the back issues .Unfortunately most Yoga moves are death for my condition and I should not have tried it in the way I did. Must say after the first beginners class you come out feeling a million bucks, then my right leg started going numb to the point you felt you would tip over while standing in place. Sciatic pain followed. etc etc.

Anyway I sure hope you find the way back to golf!!! Feeling almost pain free today after a bad start this am. Fingers crossed. If ok iby Wednesday afternoon may try a game, and have a massage at noon to help. Hope to reshaft a couple of drivers tonight. Picked up some UST Mamiya shafts via Ebay and want to slap one in to my back up driver, a 9.5 Callaway FT Tour. My gamer is a Titleist 8.5 907 D2 with an OZIK F7M2 , an incredibly tight dispersion shaft. You can go wrong with it but the error margin is narrower than most. I actually really like the Callaway head and I hot melted it a while back which mutes the feel and reduces the twang sound at impact but have not found the right shaft to satisfy me yet.

Cheers
