My buddy Bob has yet another comment on Obama's bluff: "The social security checks are written by the SS commission - not a body to be manipulated by the president. The money comes from the ss trust fund, not the general budget. So BO is blowing smoke - he would be way over the line if he tried to cut off ss payments FOR ANY REASON. Only if the trust fund goes dry does the general budget get tapped to support the checks, and we are only mildly into that situation at present. BO probably could force some reduction in the checks, but only at great political peril. Other than that, he is only blowing smoke. The man is a blowhard, preying on the ignorance and apathy of the general public.
