"Dave, if the debt ceiling isn't raised, the country will not be able to meet it's obligations"

BULLSHIT, we take in enough each month to pay the interest on our loans

Without borrowing, the US will only have enough cash on hand and current inflow to pay 40% of it's outstanding obligations. If we don't make the debt payments to current foreign bond holders, the world economy will TANK as it has never tanked before, including OUR economy!

I agree with Ten. Why have any limitation at all if you aren't going to fight for reduced spending before giving them increased borrowing ability? That's the entire reason for having a debt ceiling.

Someone has to be responsible here and the Ds aren't. Let these creeps figure out how they're going to pay off the money they borrow before they borrow it. I do that, you do that, everyone you know does it.

If you have to fire a few DHS employees to get it done, fine. We can't just keep running up debt without bound.
