Rudy,

If I am not too late, I will short AMAT as of the close of today or as of the open tomorrow, however you set the rules ;).
As I am out of the market now, except for small positions in GATE and FTEL, I have been busy reading about macroeconomics and the Asian currency crisis which are linked now to competitive devaluations in Asia. I did not read all the posts on this thread so perhaps this has been mentioned before, but I believe the Nikkei rally was orchestrated by Japanese government by taking money from the pension funds and
buying into companies on the Nikkei 225. Hence, I believe, this was a
sucker's rally. Korea keeps dropping like a rock, and Nikkei is up a bit at this writing. How it will end up in the morning, I don't know. Nevertheless, I think we will have a down day tomorrow in the US.

It is actually difficult to predict what is happening in the markets, because when volatility has been high during the last few weeks. These kind of markets are easily manipulated. Don't take what I write too seriously. I am quite a novice in this business. The time I spent last six months in the study of APM's balance sheets and technology, I should have spent on macro-economics. I would have been better off, but the closeness to the APM bulls, which I was one, clouded my thinking about the big picture. Interestingly none of the disk drive companies participated today in the rally, except for IBM, and
the latter's increase was for other reasons.

With best regards, Seppo

Rudy my pick at tomorrow's open, Dell short. Stock has come back too fast too soon, also HWP's #'s won't help.

See ya!
