On the basis of unaudited results released by the company, income from operations has jumped to Rs. 18.24 crores from Rs. 7.63 crores and the gross profit, before depreciation and interest charges, to Rs. 4.54 crores from Rs. 1.92 crores in the corresponding period in 1996-97. Interest charges were much higher at Rs. 48.79 lakhs (Rs. 2.82 lakhs). The provision for depreciation is Rs. 33.92 lakhs (Rs. 12.37 lakhs). No provision has been made in respect of taxation for the current half year as the company will be determining the liability in this regard at the end of the financial year. The net profit is higher at Rs. 3.71 crores against Rs. 1.53 crores. The company is providing satellite based digital TV transmission systems, using MPEG 2 conversion technology through its enterprise system engineering group. It is also carrying out turnkey solutions on LAN, WAN, SAN and enterprise wide network. It has successfully implemented digital linking for multinational companies such as Vaalco International of the U.K, Deutsche Babcock of Germany and others. The company plans to expand its operations to SAARC countries. It has tied up with Simoco and Divicom , both of the U.S. On the education front, the company is providing training on IBM, database, Internet, multimedia and microsoft streams. In the 12 months ended March 31, 1997, the company has reported a net profit of Rs. 3.49 crores on a turnover of Rs. 18.85 crores. A dividend of 23 per cent was paid for that period.
