I actually think the MMA angle will work against it, to some extent, with some segments of the potential audience. It didn't appeal to me when I heard about it. And I think it may turn off a lot of mature and/or thoughtful viewers who find MMA fighting horrible. But I'm hoping the reviews and word of mouth will bring them to theaters.

It's primarily a story about the relationships between two brothers and their father. A beautiful, compelling, intelligent drama, with believable characters and great dialogue. The acting is superb. Tom Hardy is going to be a big star, and Joel Edgerton has a bright future as well. Nick Nolte is brilliant as a broken-down alcoholic. Big stretch for him. But seriously, it's the performance of a lifetime.
