That's the big thing, the medical educational expenses are all upfront and accrue the rest of the career until getting paid down. Meanwhile the plumber is out making dough right from the get go. By age 35 or so he's waayyy ahead, and it's not clear the docs can catch them. Depends on the specialty to large degree, but very difficult to do on a per hourly basis for a primary care physician.....
