So far, it's playing out like the iPod did-- not everyone needed an mp3 player, but if you were going to get one, you got an iPod. This guy Eric doesn't want an iPad and that's fine, but note that he's not getting a different tablet. That would be a waste of money.

I've never had an iPod, or any other MP3 player (though have bought several for the wife and others). But take away my iPad and I would be VERY upset... I use it for hours every single day. I would give up the iPhone way before the iPad.

Let's assume that Apple reports 7.5mil iPad sales. That's 2.5mil/month. ASUS, who is NOT Apple by any means in both size and capacity, is selling 400-500,000 per month. ASUS mind you, is also NOT Samsung. A behemoth with the engineering and manufacturing and retail presence to easy dwarf ASUS. So would they be selling at least as much as ASUS?? I think just as many or more. And then you have Motorola, LG, Sony, Archos, Vizio, Lenovo, Toshiba, Acer, etc... should they be selling at least a quarter to a half as much as ASUS?? Just the 8 names I mentioned with 100,000 - 200,000 per month, in other words 25% to 50% of what ASUS sells amounts to 0.8-1.6million per month. Add the 400K of Asus and 400K of Samsung and you have 1.6-2.4million per month....

So you still think it's playing like iPod??? Is that why IDC reported that Android tablets gained massive market share to 34%, while iPad's share nosedived?? Is that why??? ...LMFAO... too funny...
