<BEST REMOVABLE MASS STORAGE

Iomega Jaz

NOT long ago, Iomega was floundering under the weight of products that
weren't designed with the user in mind. The same company is now riding high on the success of its Jaz drive, a 1Gb removable cartridge drive that is winning the battle with SyQuest. Combined with some excellent software tools, the Jaz drive was the first to hit the 1Gb barrier, making it ideal for CD-ROM developers. It also has enough performance for video enthusiasts. With the new Jaz2 drive offering 2Gb of storage capacity as well as further performance improvements, Iomega should further cement its position as the premier mainstream high-capacity mass storage device.

Imation Superdisk

IT'S been a long wait, but it appears that the LS-120 drive we heard about some time ago is heading for the mass market. Although you can't argue against the popularity of Iomega's 100Mb Zip drive, the LS-120's backward compatibility means that you can still use your old 1.44Mb and 720K floppy disks plus be able to use the new 120Mb media, thanks to the laser-servo technology used within the drive.

When the motherboard manufacturers sort out the boot-up options, the
LS-120 could become the default replacement for the old 3.5-inch floppy drive.>

Thread, from Briefing.com:

Computer Systems & Peripherals

Brief:... Iomega, however, soared to a new 52-wk high of 30 15/16 (+2 1/4)... Company's new/enhanced products and its improved earnings momentum behind the gains... But valuations now a little high given IOM's history of price/earnings instability...
