Bob, I wouldn't be too concerned with MOT's Host-based modem. Why would a consumer want to add "peripheral" work to the CPU? Even if the bandwidth of this style of remote communication is competitive, note that the downside is not stated: that you will incur a price in terms of memory and processing cycles to deal with the added workload. Also, the trend in computing has been to OFFLOAD processing cabability to peripheral devices and allow the CPU to concentrate on the higer value work. regards, LK
