I don't follow the company in detail, but if the rumors are true about decreasing pricing power for the shallow guys, I believe that is where PDE is focused. I know NE dumped off all their shallow water jackups on to it earlier this year for a hefty sum. Looks like a smart move right now on NE's part, but we'll have to see how things shake out. Gil,
I kind of like Pride. I think their heavy international presence is likely to work in their favor, with longer contracts and less downtime between contracts producing a steadier and less variable business. However, my preference is for companies with greater offshore operations. I believe PDE is about 70-75% land-based. Though I think PDE will do well and probably better than other predominantly land-based drillers, I think the prospects for the offshore drillers looks better.
