"5.9 million to be precise. Where actual sales 14 million?"

That would be the case only if they had NO channel inventory at the start of the quarter.

From: apple.com

The Company sold 20.34 million iPhones in the quarter, representing 142 percent unit growth over the year-ago quarter. Apple sold 9.25 million iPads during the quarter, a 183 percent unit increase over the year-ago quarter. The Company sold 3.95 million Macs during the quarter, a 14 percent unit increase over the year-ago quarter. Apple sold 7.54 million iPods, a 20 percent unit decline from the year-ago quarter.

The 5.9 M was unadulterated channel stuffing? How about striking while the iron is hot? Apple has to have product in the channel if they want to sell to everyone who wants one NOW.

Apple sez:

We ended the quarter with about 5.9 million iPhones in channel inventory, a sequential increase of about 700,000 to support strong iPhone demand, carrier addition and expanded distribution. We remained within our target range of 4 to 6 weeks of iPhone channel inventory.

Apple iPhone actual sales are 6 million LESS than CRAPple says. They have been stuffing the channel big time. That also explains the horrible guidance for Q4 as they will have to get rid of that massive inventory to make room for the new model.

Now compare that with the 550,000/day activations which amounts to 50 million per quarter ACTUAL SOLD to end users, and everyone can see that the iCrap is falling further and further behind.

And another thing...they sayd 4-6 weeks of inventory is 5.9 million. If that is true that amounts to ONLY 15 million sales per quarter.
