The Cannacord Daily Letter today suggested that new drill results from Tanzania are imminent. They also mentioned that the stock ran up in a similar fashion in the days before the previous "good news" release from the same project, in September.

Control regained over Itetemia project

Tan Range Exploration Corp TNX
Shares issued 32,181,633 Dec 19 close $0.82
Mon 22 Dec 97 News Release
Mr Marek Kreczmer reports
In November 1995, Tan Range Exploration and JCI Ltd of South Africa,
entered into a strategic alliance under which JCI had the right in certain
eventualities to acquire up to a 51% interest in projects operated by Tan
Range.
Following a recent decision by JCI to restructure and to dispose of its
principal gold mines, JCI informed Tan Range that it had decided to
terminate the strategic alliance. Tan Range is very pleased with this
development as the company has now regained 100% control of all its mineral
projects, including the highly promising Itetemia project in Tanzania.
The results at Itetemia have confirmed the presence of a significant gold
resource. Diamond drilling has outlined a mineralized zone for a distance
of 300m to a depth of 100m. Rock chips derived from reverse circulation
drilling contain gold indicating the gold bearing zone is at least 800m
long. The mineralization is open in all directions. The induced
polarization conductor with which the ore zone is associated is 2200m long
and is also open to the west.
All the diamond drill holes intersected mineralization over core lengths
ranging from 1.1 to 33.0m. Three of the holes intersected two parallel
zones of mineralization. Gold grades vary from 0.96 to 14.78 g/t Au.
Cross sections show the gold zones to dip steeply to the south with a
horizontal width of 14m. The gold bearing structure lines up from section
to section forming a coherent gold deposit in three dimensions. The gold is
hosted in a banded to massive quartz sulphide zone with a carbonaceous
component. Re-interpretation of aeromagnetic data suggests the existence of
numerous other targets similar to the Golden Horseshoe Reef at the Itetemia
property.
The board of directors will be reviewing plans for an expanded exploration
program on this and other projects in 1998.
