It is astounding to me that AAPL is not up more today.

Surprises me also. But I've seen it before after a blow out quarter... and then it started one of its slow, almost everyday up a few points appreciation. But who knows?

Well, it did rise quite a bit in anticipation of this earnings report.

It's up nearly 80 bucks in four weeks, from an intraday low of 310.50 to the present region just under 390.

Looking at that 80 buck rise, I'm amused that some people are bragging about making a few bucks per share on the short side.

You're right about the stock split, though. It would almost surely goose the stock. They don't have enough share authorized to do it, but it's not a bad idea.
