I believe last Tuesday, a public announcement was made of an agreement between mining interests and the Humala govt. to assess a royalty from the "after-tax" income (not gross sales) of Peruvian mining companies.

This seemed to be a political win-win...the lower socio-economic strata perceived it to be a win for Humala, and the mining interests were pleased that the royalty was levied upon after-tax income and not top-line revenue.

BVN's stock price, after this agreement, for the past week, seemed to garner strength. But today's volatility has me concerned.

Any thoughts on why the volatility, in light of the strong move in the metals?
