The real estate situation in D.C. is a no-win situation. If Obama wins re-election the economy tanks if it hasn't already. If he doesn't win, government cut-backs would likely mean federal layoffs and dire economics at the individual level. Both ways equals downward pressure on real estate. Short D.C. real estate.
