Very nice, and well earned.

But don't fret about the message. This is the skinny:

A lot more CDS being bought on the sovereign debt of the biggies and the cost of the so-called protection they afford is going up. Given the CDS costs/rates, studies suggest that the sovereign debt of the US merits AA, two notches down.

In other words, the speculators and the bond vigilantes are on the prowl.

What you do need to ponder, if any blood is making it via your tummy to your head, vbg, is this: Why is everyone so damned placid? This isn't fun and games. This is some serious stuff happening, the drumrolls can be heard in the distance.

I feel what Winston Churchill must have felt when he went on a relentless and lonely crusade against the Nazis but no one paid attention.

Don't worry, be happy.

Yeah, sure.

kinda sad....

for the first time i feel like the head of a household

one of my fondest memories of sharing a meal was with a peasant in the hills near Guadalajara Mexico. he served (or rather his wife and children) served dinner in a adobe home with a dirt floor. cooking was done on a kerosene stove and baking in wood fired clay oven. the ambiance of the candle-lit home at dusk was magnificent and unforgettable. what that peasant had you could not purchase with all the gold in china.
