Sounds familiar. When I go to see friends in D.C. we plan ahead of time about the parking. They move their car to a 'safe' place and I take their street parking or they wait until I come and they move their car and I take their place.

The first time I visited I ended up with a $100.00 ticket. I saw all of the expired meters nearby and put money in the meter for my car not wanting a ticket . Timing myself, I came back to put more money in the meter and found a meter maid writing a ticket and ignoring all of the DC expired parkers. Of course she was unyielding as I had my quarters to put in the meter.

Living in Virginia what could I do but pay the ticket----spend time driving back to D.C. to protest the ticket in court and be out more $.
