We are still in vegas...the tournament is over. He bowled in three different events. single, team (double) and team (foursome).

Yesterday was the single and double events. He started off great in the doubles with a strike and a spare, but then on first ball of the third frame he formed a blister on his thumb and with the second ball, tore it off. We put some new-skin and tape on his thumb and he was back in business....except for the fact that he was not throwing the ball well with his thumb in pain and taped up. He bowled a 106 in his first game.....definitely not a good number. Second game he settled in and bowled a 165 and the third was a 140. So he had a respectable average of 137ish. But that ain't gonna win him any tournaments. One of his buddies who has a similar handicap came in 5th with a 170 average yesterday.

Four the singles, he was still off, but averaged 142.

Today was the foursome event....we drilled his thumb hole out a bit and this really helped. He averaged 160 today. However, his teammates were all having an off day. So they didn't even come close to placing (top 20 place).

If he had bowled yesterday like he did today, he would have come in about 10th place....oh well.

We've had a lot of fun. Though we had to alter our plans tonight. We went to see a movie "Horrible Bosses"....let's just say that we had to walk out of the movie. Very much not appropriate for an 11 year old.

Also went downtown.....downtown Las Vegas is a cesspool. I've got no desire to go back there again. We went for the zip-lines (down fremont street). That was fun for the kids, but that is all. The rest of the experience could be had on any street in the skid row district of Los Angeles.
