I don't know anything about the details of this particular case, but if the deported man is, in fact, beheaded, I doubt very much that Canada will allow extradition to China in future.

Execution for financial dealings is a crime against humanity.

Canada does not have executions, and Canada is a sovereign nation.

And, to put it bluntly, the Chinese government sucks. No matter what apologists for the Chinese government argue on the Internet.

In fact, let us give thanks for apologists for the Chinese government in the Internet. They are so transparent.

Again, let me reiterate that I have great respect for the Chinese people, their wonderful culture, and their incredible accomplishments.

But their government sucks.

re him time.com "Smuggler's Blues" (circa 2002 10 14 Times), the fact that Times glowingly of him should be a tip-off that he is iffish.

re his wife, i misspoke, for the original wife apparently must have already cut a deal and dealt him out woxmobile.com . the woman he was with recently in vancouver was his concubine as he had housed many girls at one time as presents google.com

possibilities now are plenty google.com

plus my guesses
- tar sands
- bombardier
- rmb swap for china-canada trades
- budget constraints in babysitting the crook
- deterrence against more migrating crooks
- some wanted canadian crook migrated to china
... etc are starting guesses

the trial? it is as good as done, and it was fair, as flight is one important indication of guilt, and unusually large fortune gambled away is always a good-enough tip-off. remember, he is wanted for a bunch of crimes, and can be charged / convicted on many more, incl tax evasion crime, along with a bunch of other charges - conspiracy for murder, bribery, smuggling, etc etc etc, and as far as witnesses, there would be plenty, naturally

the beheading? would not happen ... not that simply anyways

however there are other possibilities, that
- he cannot take the daily chore of interrogation, pounding big rocks into little ones, down to sand, to make cement, and back into big rocks, to be pounded down again, and decides to off himself (doubt he has the nuts for it), and offs himself
- he betrays his comrades, and maybe has a big enough and heretofore unknown comrade, and manages to net a deal

whatever the case, he needs to do some soul searching.

the drama is not over, because cai has names, lists and lists of names.
