That's a nice picture of gold bars behind bars.

I prefer this one. Observe closely and you'll see no bars. But there is greater value. : images.freshnessmag.com

To help think of value, would you swap Erita for the bars, or maybe even both Erita and Jack? How about if the bars were 10 deep and you could count them, fondle them, love them?

or maybe even about the entire global economy?
Preposterous!
It is akin of you drinking your whole life and everybody in your city getting hepatic cirrosis.

See the US has 300 million inhabitants. The EU about 500 million. That is 800 million.

Earth's population 6,775,235,700 We have the other world population 6 billion hostage of the 800 million?

And these 6 billion are going to stop their growth in the stage they are in just because 800 million goes in to crisis? I don't think that is realist.

Here is why:
These very 800 million will be surely going in a down GDP path until their economies reach their natural GDP.
That means they will shed all artificial GDP fat.
Govern size will be curtailed.
Subsides to all kinds of unproductive activities which draws from productive sectors will stop.
Add to that defense forces, embassies abroad, foreign bases, space programs. R&D programs and welfare entitlements.

The weaker countries have been already in their respective down GDP path.

In the US what they are doing, right now is deciding, whose politicians and parties is going to be slimmed down. In such case they throw the fate of the country to the wind and fight nail and claw for their power base.

And The other 6 billion will proceed apace albeit having to agree about the world reserve currency that will replace the USD.
