From an electron to a quasar, and all things in between, from bacteria to blue whales and beyond, morality consists of self preservation.

Self preservation includes recognizing and assisting other organisms--especially those similar to oneself--to preserve themselves and to enjoy a happy existence.

Morality does not require sacrifice of oneself to hostile or foolish other entities.

C2, you mistook my intention. It really is useful to be a speculator. It really does limit the tops and bottoms. Volatility is problematic for hordes of people. By being willing to take positions at what they think are the tops and bottoms, speculators perform a useful service. Not as useful as inventing CDMA/OFDM but certainly helping smooth the way.

I too am a speculator and have started a company to do just that and am doing it. My contribution to smoothing peaks and troughs is minuscule compared with the likes of Warren Buffett who does it in tranches of $billions these days. But a beach is made up of billions of grains of sand on which the waves of the financial storms break and are dissipated.

With so many speculators these days, with supersonic high speed hedge funding computers sitting close to the trading centre, there is a lot of competition. There are a great many losers who slink off chastened and defeated, having sold sheep and bought deer instead of the reverse.

There is nothing at all immoral about speculating on prices.

am fairly certain that today's alleged immoral metals speculator shall rise to become tomorrow's noble champion of freedom and astute guardian truth.

besides the true speculators immoral speculators today are the folks keeping faith with paper money fraud, and the immoral human slugs are the money fraud enablers, facilitators, and the folks who act to smother the truth.

i am not religious in any organized sense, but i do believe in transcending justice, and such justice shall be done

no mercy
no regrets
no tears
just justice
