They offered a plan. The President has to pass it. If he doesn't possible downgrades and default are his and his party's responsibility.

I think a short term raise of the debt ceiling is appropriate. That way we can all vote on the matter. I know how you love fair voting. That actually gives the people a voice with their vote in 2012.
