The only merit I see in the robust n flexible usofa relative to Europe is that usofa has the wherewithal n constitution to self-destruct more thoroughly for the very reason that it is more robust n flexible, until the sorry end.

Whereas on the European side, the worst that can happen is that the Germans would pull the plug on every other euro state, and the French would go back to selling wine n cheese to themselves.

The Greeks are ok, at a personal level, for they never paid their tax obligations and so the sums never got squandered. They merely have to give up what isn't theirs to begin with, namely a sucking position at one of many tits of euroland. Big deal, after such a very good party. It is not as if the Piigs have empires to underwrite and embrace. Their days have long passed best-use-by.

I am watching the drama being acted out by monetary gold, psychology silver, and industrial platinum. One fine day all three should go manic up, but for different reasons underpinned by the same causing force.
