Are you saying that North America really was stolen from the British, who stole it from the French , who stole it from the Spanish , who stole it from the indians right? Or wait... I think the Souix stole it from the Cheyenne who stole it from the Black Foot, who stole it from somebody else untill we just get down to the ever present mosquitoes! Hmmmm... guess everyone got into being hosed on this land thing at some time or another. Who really owns anything.? My guess the same race of bugs were there since day one and they get no respect at all. Everyone slapping them around and stomping on them all the time.:-) Does the chain ever end? :-) It has always been my understanding that Tunisia,Lybya,Palestine,Lebanon,Isarael, Iraq and Syria were all originally colonies of the Phoenician Empire. Were not modern day Iraq & biblical Babylon essentually one in the same?

Marcos, I'm not going to try too hard to convince you that just about everything you wrote is not supported by history. I suggest you go and read some books on the subject, or, better yet, visit the area yourself. The quick response is: Jews have been living there in large numbers for centuries and were known as Palestinians until the Muslims declassified them as such, the Jews who immigrated pre 1947 moved onto land which they purchased from the land's owners, there were huge movements of populations mainly due to 5 Arab armies attacking the nascent Israel, most immigrant Jews to Israel come from Arab countries where they were kicked out after 1948, Israel didn't control the West Bank or Gaza from 1948 to 1967 and that didn't stop the Arabs from launching attack after attack on them, and while some Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza have indeed been struggling for independence some of them are struggling to eliminate Israel completely and until Arafat decides which side he's on and helps with such issues as people blowing themselves up on commuter buses, the Israelis have a right to protect their citizenry. Oh, and as for the "chosen people" stuff, read some of the religious writings put out by Hamas or spouted by Arafat. We should move this to another thread if this is going to continue.

Marcos you may write nice but are completle ignorant of matters of the Midle East, to say at least, Do you mean to say that Palestine was devoid of an indigenous population until the Zionist movement brought Jewish in-migration? If so, on what evidence do you base this belief? Perhaps you're right, I should read more -g- Surprise - IT WAS - as only a small fraction of today population was living within the borders if today's Israel and several nomad tribes. Your history knowlge is scarse at best, have you read about the Crusaders? Are you aware that about 3 million people lived in hte middle ages in those places?? Do you know anything about the Templers?? Their commercial might and hteir destruction by the France Monarchy??? Are you at all familiar with arab mentality or the believes of the Islamic Jihad, and the fundamentalist who promote it?? As to your other remarks Israel was considered a dangerous- communist entitiy in 1947 by the CIA, the State of Israel gained it's independence by it's own and not with the help of US dollars. Are you aware that Egypt receives over $3 billion a year in US aid?? and that Jordan is a recipent of US aid?? Sorry, but why waste time with ignorants, Haim
