Politicians say the polls show that the public wants "compromise". I would argue that in many instances, polarization is desirable. It's been the slow bleeding of muckity muck "compromise" that has driven this country to the perilous state it's now facing. Many people I know are just damn angry. There's a growing rumble in the jungle..

In any compromise between food and poison, it is only death that can win. In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit

Obama pushes EVERYTHING to the max that he thinks he can get away with.....then expects Americans to "Compromise"....i.e. the current mess. i.e. Health care. i.e. Stimulus

Remember he said "I Won." He's still in that mode. He seems to believe that NO one can stand in his way when he wants something. Certainly not those minicule Republicans.....

"How dare they stand in the way of Mighty Obama and demand that I listen"......

I can't imagine what a terrible childhood the guy had....he never did learn to share. Anything. He took what he wanted, even if it belonged to someone else. Then he probably fussed when he had to give any of the ill gotten gains back to the rightful owner.
