with much respect to my lawyer friends, I do see the dominance of lawyers in politics as one of our biggest issues. I may have written about this before.

It falls to the concept of "when you are a hammer, everything looks like a nail". Lawyers will see the passing of new laws as the way to solve problems.

One doesn't need to be a lawyer to understand the US Constitution. Basic English language skills are all that you need. The whole US Constitution with all 27 amendments is 21 pages long.

Only a lawyer would want to create a healthcare bill that is 2300 pages long and too cumbersome to comprehend by the lay person.

If a law can't be expressed in a page or two, the intent is not to provide a solution but rather it is being used as a way to obfuscate and manipulate.

My issue isn't with the lawyers who provide attorney services to the public. It is with the lawyers who are part of the political system and are using the legal system to their benefit.
