I agree that monetarily it is crap.; but there is great value in having to revisit the issue shortly. The longer this plays out, the bigger the cuts that eventually happen. You get a trillion now and give the process time to pressure the Ds some more.

Remember, six months ago, the only person even TALKING about cuts was Ryan. We get a trillion now, and another 4 or 5 trillion six months from now? I'll take that.

OTOH, the rating agencies aren't going to like it. But they just need to get over it.
