As I have said before, IPM management may have the best of intentions, but they may not (probably do not) have the technology to recover the gold at a profit.

Tim: Years ago, IPM was going to use Dick Hewlett for consulting work, but because there was a conflict of interest from Phoenix Int'l Mining (who sold Black Rock to IPM) also using Hewlett, IPM decided to go with BD instead. Well, here we are in late 1997, and Maxam is getting set to go into production with Hewlett's recovery method and IPM has struck out and must take another turn at bat with Bateman. It's an unfortunate roll of the dice for IPM, but life's never easy.
