I should have taken you up on your wager. I could have made a few dollars on the side. ;-)

After some considerable thought, for what it's worth.....I've changed my position. I no longer favor the Boehmer plan. It simply does not even BEGIN to solve the problem. ($23T vs $25T in debt after 10 years) I just can not vote for this. I'm convinced now that any bill the Republicans pass has to have near unanimous Republican support and at least begin to reverse current spending trends. The C/C/B plan certainly does this. Republicans should resend this as well as different forms of this plan ...C/C alone... a Cut bill alone.....a Cap bill alone......a balanced budget amendment alone, other bills such as the Rand Paul One Cent Solution, and others over to the Senate. Make it clear that all are acceptable to the Republican controlled House......all at least begin to reverse the disastrous spending trends, and are positions that can not be compromised on. DEMAND debate and votes on each.....one at a time until one passes. If all are rejected........Shut it down. Unfortunately, too many Republicans are simply not real conservatives.....and I see them capitulating in the end. We have enough troops (American public) but not enough leaders. The bond markets will do what they have to do. Nothing the politicians do can change that. 2012 will be the last chance to save the country.
Hopefully.....things will hold together till then.
