After I got the '83 Yugo that Smithee mentioned, I flipped it immediately, since there's such a hot market for those, and got another Lexus LS 400, but a much newer one - with an AC that works - and white instead of black like the last time. Very happy with it, so far.

When I got up this morning, I notice the file that I kept all the paperwork from the car, etc., was on the floor. One of the kitties (probably the black one) had pushed it to the floor because it was sitting on the place where she likes to take a nap.

She didn't stop there. She chewed a hole in the bottom of the Certificate of Title (pink slip). I went to the AAA to register the car today and pay the taxes (Holy Criminey!!) and showed the clerk the chewed title. She started laughing, saying in the 40 years she'd worked for the AAA, she'd never seen that before. After much tsking, head shaking, murmuring, consultations with the entire staff (who all started laughing), she agreed to give me the registration and tags - but now I have to go back to the seller and ask them to provide a Lien Satisfied/Title Holder Release, since that was the section that had been bitten and scratched.

Nothing is easy anymore.
