Intellectually corrupt politicians.... demoralized and to a large extent brainwashed population... It's just not a healthy combination. Interestingly, the new NY governor Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, is one of the people who are fighting against those built in automatic increases in government expenditures, which are a guaranteed road towards disaster. Once people grasp what the issue is all about, they are shocked.... but our 24 hour constant news all the time system is rather good at covering up some of the important basics.
